Empowering people and building stakeholder partnerships in diverse communities is what Joyce Campbell has done for nearly two decades as a seasoned community development strategist. Her career in community outreach, education, and collaborative partnership development began as a grassroots volunteer and evolved into extensive experience gained through positions held in banking, state government, and nonprofit industries.

With a specialty in Corporate Social Responsibility, Joyce helps organizations and communities in targeted geographies think creatively, strategically, and realistically about their goals, programming, benchmarks and funding sources.

Through her work as Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) officer for Capital One Bank; as the policy advisor and liaison to the minority community for former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee; and as Community Outreach Director for Hibernia National Bank, she has developed and managed countless community initiatives. These initiatives were primarily designed to address the challenges of low-to-moderate income individual and families. Her area of expertise includes affordable housing, economic development, work force development and neighborhood revitalization.

Partnership and consensus building is what it’s all about for Joyce and this expertise has led to her recruitment to numerous boards, committees and councils on both the state and local levels. Additionally, as a former community affairs talk shows host she is skilled in conducting live media broadcast interviews. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Psychology from Texas A & M University at Texarkana.  She is an ordained minister in the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) and is currently pursuing a Master of Theological Studies at Southern Methodist University (SMU- Dallas) scheduled to graduate August 2013.
